Title: Brazil/Flamingo UV Mapping Post by: Catonic on May 07, 2008, 03:24:45 PM I’m starting to realize the importance of using real textures with rendering systems (especially when using Flamingo). Getting the textures isn’t really an issue, but getting them onto my models is proving difficult. I started looking for info on UV mapping with these 2 programs and there doesn’t seem to be much available. (Mainly due to the fact that Brazil for Rhino is still very much beta and the same goes for Flamingo 2.0) I was hoping there would be some adventurous fellow forum users who would try to figure some tricks out with me. What say you? 8)
Title: Re: Brazil/Flamingo UV Mapping Post by: gery on May 08, 2008, 09:16:17 PM I think you can't UV map with Rhino, I hate that...
But what I do when I need to UV map, i use UVMapper Pro, it's a great app. In Rhino you will have to mesh ur surfaces and then export it as a .obj to open it in UVMapper. After applying ur texture to ur UV Map, u go back to Rhino and apply it as a surface projection. Title: Re: Brazil/Flamingo UV Mapping Post by: Will J on May 10, 2008, 12:20:01 PM I usually just mesh it, convert to .obj and then map in 3Dmax or Maya. They are pretty easy to use and have mental ray built in for awesome renders :D!

how about modo? I heard their unwrap tool is great and their render engine even greater. If I'm gonna learn an app for rendering I'll aim for the best one
