Title: Rhino- Blueprints? Post by: kbillan on December 06, 2009, 07:53:33 AM Greetings!
I just found this forum through a google search for my current question. Nice forum~ lots of good info here. My question, is perhaps a very simple one. How can i take my drawing- and turn it into an orthographical view/ blueprint? I have not tried this yet- im not in the shop- Im sure the ortho part is as easy as using one of the side viewports-- but the blueprint. I want the blue bkgd and the white lines... how would i go about this? using one of the toon textures in brazil?? thanks in advance- for any input.. Title: Re: Rhino- Blueprints? Post by: Packe777 on December 06, 2009, 07:02:13 PM That can be done in many ways. You can highlight the viewport you need, and enter "make2d" command, select the desired object/scene and u'll get the 2d lines blueprint. Then select all the extracted lines, in the object properties (on the right side by default), change display color to white. Then enter "-GradientView" command, and click on the "color" command to select blue. You need to be in the wireframe mode to see the change - white lines and blue background. After all this, you can download "Auxpecker" plugin that can help you to grab the screen in the higher res, or go for "print" (to file) option.
Or you can skip all this and after "make 2d" command and extraction of lines, save the vector blueprint as auto cad format DWG file, and import it into Sketchup (i think it's free for download)- where you can change styles to suit your needs even better that in Rhino. It can help you get the blueprint view. Also you can use it with "Auxpecker" plugin together to export that technical view into a bitmap/png/tiff.
